Singham

This year, prepare yourself, as the most anticipated motion picture event of the year takes you for the ultimate Snotklap. *The story, set in the backdrop of Nallore, a small town in Thoothukudi District, revolves around Sub-Inspector Durai Singam (Ajay Devgan), a brave and just policeman who serves in his hometown primarily to fulfill his father’s wish. Durai Singam settles every dispute in his town patiently with his words of wisdom and resorts to force only when the situation demands it.* The movie directed by Rohit Shetty is a remake of the very succesful tamil version of the same name.

Its about effing time Ajay Devagan pulled his finger out of his arse. Sporting a new and improved muscular build. The movie has a very Machete feel, almost as if its parodying itself and is proud of it, having watched many of Ajay Devgans movies, I gave up on him somewhere between Mehbooba and Aakrosh, but this movie raises the bar, watching somebody get slapped down and get knocked the eff out with half a light pole by a man running on the side of a car trying to get away is epic. The movie preserves the tamil action from the original film

I'm looking forward to this movie, the stunts are outrageous, the actors chew the scenery in this melodrama intentional B grade film fest and its good to see Ajay Devgan not take himself as seriously as he usually does.

The movie releases 22 July 2011.

Champion League Finals 2011

The match between Manchester United and Barcelona was really a one sided affair with Barcelona running rings around a totally dispirited red devil side who had over the years tormented many a strong  team.

Do Manchester United have to re-organise their team to take on the best in the world after their humiliating defeat? While they have had very talented mid-fielders over the years who have delivered especially in the English league, it would certainly appear as if this talent needs to be re-energised to meet formidable challenges from other great teams outside the English League.

Wayne Rooney Scores Wonder-Goal Equalizer
Do they have to follow the example of Barcelona in having a very solid midfield with the likes of Xavi , Busquets  and Iniesta, which allows the brilliance of Messi to freely roam the park and score goals at will? This is something sorely missing in the Red Devils outfit. Come on Red devil supporters give me your candid viewpoints about whether Manchester United need to change their style of play so that they are adequately equipped to meet the challenges of Europe.

Week after week Manchester United beat English teams at will but yet when they face the might of Barcelona they looked just as ordinary as the teams they beat in the English League

Windows 8

Microsoft's new Windows 8 leverages itself off integrating the Internet onto your desktop, something they have been trying to get right for years since Windows 98, the design looks and feel very much like the Windows 7 phones. Apps on the system are represented by tiles instead of using the traditional icons that we have become so accustomed to on previous Windows Os's. Although the tiles add more character to the application, Windows 8 seems like it has been developed with lots of focus on social networking.

The design allows both touch screen and keyboard/mouse interaction. The multi-tasking is seamless and fluid using a function called snap that simultaneously allows to gesture one app over another without interrupting any process flows. It seems that windows have overhauled their user interface in anticipation of the functionality that the influx of tablet technology will bring to the market.

If Windows 7 mobile is anything to go by, with its unconventional original design,  we can expect great things from Windows next OS set for release sometime in 2012. The user interface will make a big difference in the way windows 8 will integrate itself into peoples lives, no longer are computers are luxury, its a necessity.

I am definitely looking forward to it. The concept video above beautifully details windows capabilities on this new platform.

Eskoms Load Shedding Schedule for winter 2011

Source : The Underground 411
There has been a plenty of confusion surrounding Eskom and whether they really are going to implement their plans with load-shedding. What we know so far is that it is just a precautionary measure should the system become unstable during the colder parts of winter. With winter really settling in, the national grid has been under tremendous pressure.

Businesses are the worst affected during load shedding, Eskom are however more transparent with their intentions and are collaborating with big businesses to do their part.
At least this time around, when the power outages happen, we can be more prepared than we were in 2007. The schedule is very neatly prepared with an algorithm in place that ensures all areas in the country are equally affected by the least amount of time.

Be sure to download a copy of Eskoms load shedding schedule from their site http://loadshedding.co.za/load-shedding-schedules/

Mortal Kombat Legacy Ep 8- scorpion part 2

With Only two episodes left of MK Legacy, one wonders what to expect next from the MK Universe, are these ten episodes a prelude to the long awaited Mortal Kombat movie reboot or will they just proceed with their legacy storyline into a second season?

Scorpion is one of the Flagship characters in mk mythology , probably the most popular amongst fans, having appeared in every MK game and every movie in the very same way wolverine is in the marvel universe. The second part of the Scorpion subzero Mortal Kombat Legacy episode was released yesterday, the story continues from where the first part left off, the Lin Keui warriors have attacked the territory of the Shirai Ryu and scorpion and subzero are about to fight to their death. Except for the mortal kombat comic books we haven't seen in any of the two films or television series an origin story with this much detail.

GET OVER HERE!!!
Scorpion was the general of the Shirai Ryu whose clan along with his wife and son were killed in cold blood by Sub Zero's Clan, the Lin Kuei. Hanzo Hasashi (Scorpion) then became a hell spawned spectre who bargained his soul with an evil sorcerer from outworld, Quan Chi to seek retribution for the death of his family at the hands of his mortal enemy sub zero. The action which is nothing short of amazing is secondary to the story line, unlike any of the previous movies, special effects are used in moderation and rope dart kung fu is very cleverly incorporated into scorpions arsenal of attacks which makes his trademark rope spear grab very believable.

I think that the director could have made provision to delve into the history between the two clans the way he explained the Mileena and Kitana origin story because it is still not clear to me whether scorpion exists in an alternate universe, whether his existence is happening on earth during the same time and space as Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Kano etc but there is still is plenty of room to still explore and im sure, based on what we have seen so far that we will see  this in future episodes.

Watashi no namae wa..... SCORPION.  Enjoy the best episode of the series so far!!!
